From Documents to Deals: Solganick Leverages AI to Enhance Client Relationships

When every hour spent on document preparation means an hour less with clients, Solganick discovered that AI could transform their technology M&A practice. For this boutique investment bank specializing in software and IT services transactions, Deliverables AI has automated time-consuming research tasks, allowing their team to focus on what truly matters: building strategic client relationships that drive successful deals.

Specialized M&A Experts with Deep Technology Sector Knowledge

Founded over 15 years ago by CEO Aaron Solganick, this specialized technology M&A advisory firm has built a reputation for its focused services in the software and IT services sector. With a team of 12 professionals working from offices in Dallas and Los Angeles, the company specializes in sell-side M&A transactions ranging from $20 million to $250+ million in enterprise value.

"We started the firm to focus exclusively on software and IT services mergers and acquisitions advisory," explains Aaron. "We mostly work on sell-side M&A transactions, typically with strategic buyers as well as private equity firms."

This specialized focus has helped the team develop deep expertise in cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation—sectors where technical knowledge and industry insight are critical for successful deals.

Balancing Research Demands with Client Interaction

Despite their success, the team faced a common challenge in the advisory world: balancing thorough research and preparation with client interaction.

"Our challenge is that we rely on analysts and associates for much of our research," Aaron explains. "Many are new to the business without much experience, so there's a significant training cycle involved."

This training cycle created inefficiencies. New team members needed time to learn how to prepare the extensive documentation for M&A transactions. Meanwhile, senior advisors were pulled away from client interactions to oversee and review this work.

"There's a lot more ways to spend our time on actually talking with clients versus the research itself," notes the CEO.

Selecting Deliverables AI for Its Specialized M&A Focus

While many general AI tools have flooded the market, the firm wasn't interested in generic solutions. When introduced to Deliverables AI, Aaron recognized its potential immediately because it was built specifically for M&A processes.

"I really tried to narrow it down to what applications are very specialized," he says. "I did a test run to make sure it worked for me and my firm and my clients' needs. It was really good—laser focused on M&A and getting deal documents together, or at least giving us ideas for deal documents."

This specialization was critical. "I like that versus using Google Gemini, which is more generic and they're not going to put that together," he adds.

AI Now Powers Document Preparation and Transaction Analysis

Since implementing Deliverables AI, the investment bank has become increasingly reliant on the platform, using it almost daily. The tool has significantly changed how the team prepares for and executes M&A transactions.

"I'm more reliant on it than I ever have been in a good way," Aaron shares. "I'm logging in as much as I can. In fact, I'm on it almost every day when I'm in town. Every week has been a learning curve for me in a good way. And I'm discovering new things daily, making my life much easier."

One feature that has proven particularly valuable is the "readiness review." This allows the team to upload client documents to a virtual data room. The platform then analyzes this information alongside publicly available data to identify gaps and opportunities.

"The readiness review feature is impressive," the founder explains. "You upload documents to a virtual data room, and it scans both those files and online information. Then it delivers an analysis that shows 'here's what you have, here's what you're missing.' This helps us laser-focus on exactly what we need from clients."

Beyond the initial analysis, Deliverables AI helps structure and generate various parts of the memorandum that will be presented to potential buyers.

"From there it's really going into each category of where you need to dissect a memorandum and communicate to outside buyers," says Aaron. "Case studies, products and services, market analysis, intellectual property, go-to-market strategy, clients, shareholder objectives, leadership, financials—it really puts it all together in one uniform area."

He particularly likes the flexibility to customize outputs. "If you don't like one way and you need to add more data or more analysis, you can ask it another way and rework it," he notes.

Time Savings Allow Senior Advisors to Focus on Strategic Client Meetings

For the firm, the main benefit has been a shift in how they use their most valuable resource: time. By automating research and document preparation, the team can focus more on client interactions and strategic advice.

"AI automation frees me to spend more time on the road meeting with clients and buyers in person—activities that actually drive deals forward," Aaron explains.

The platform has also helped reduce the learning curve for new team members. It provides them with structured templates and insights that might otherwise take months or years to develop.

"It helps us think about different aspects of the transaction and puts things together in a cohesive, uniform solution," says the CEO. "It saves a lot of time for sure."

Strategic Growth Plans Shift Toward More Deal Originators

As the company plans for growth, Deliverables AI is influencing its thinking about hiring and team structure.

"As we grow, it's always a question of who we hire and where do we grow," Aaron reflects. "We're 12 people now. We want to go to 20 to 30 to 50 at some point. But do we need more people, or maybe it's hiring experienced investment bankers at the top where we're bringing in senior deal originators versus research analysts and associates? I know we need both, but maybe there's less reliance on research analysts and more of focus on deal originators, which means AI comes into play there."

For firms considering similar technology, the founder offers straightforward advice: "Test it. Put in a live case or a live client you're about to go out to market with and do a test run. I think you're going to get a lot of good ideas out of it. More often than not, you will be able to use all of it or most of it."

In an industry where relationships and expertise define success, Solganick has found in Deliverables AI a tool that enhances both—automating the routine while enabling the team to focus on the strategic guidance that truly adds value for their clients.
