January 2026 product update: Smarter images, custom fonts, and faster exports

January was our biggest month yet for presentation quality. We rethought how images, fonts, and charts work across your decks, and the results speak for themselves. Here's what's new.

Coordinated Image Generation Across Your Deck

Previously, images were generated one slide at a time during content creation. This meant the AI couldn't see the full picture, which sometimes led to repetitive metaphors or inconsistent visual styles across slides.

Now, images are generated in a dedicated phase after all slide content is finalized. The AI sees your entire deck at once and coordinates images to:

  • Avoid duplicate metaphors — no more two slides with the same "handshake" or "growth chart" visual
  • Balance visual density — alternating between detailed and minimal imagery
  • Ensure stylistic consistency — maintaining a cohesive editorial illustration style throughout

We also made the AI smarter about using your project's own images. During the planning phase, the AI now probes your project library to assess what photos and assets you've already uploaded. If your sources contain high-quality company photos, office imagery, or product shots, the AI will prioritize those over generating new images. Real photos from your sources almost always look better than AI-generated alternatives for company-specific content.

Custom Brand Fonts That Actually Work

Uploading a branded template with custom fonts used to be hit-or-miss. Fonts might not embed correctly, smart quotes would render as spaces, or bold text would overflow its container.

We rebuilt the font system from the ground up:

  • Font caching means your brand fonts load instantly after the first use — no more waiting for font processing on every export
  • Full font embedding ensures smart quotes, em dashes, and special characters render correctly everywhere
  • Intelligent scaling — heading and body fonts now scale independently based on their actual width, so bold Montserrat headings won't overflow even when paired with narrow body text
  • Font flexibility — you can now request specific fonts (like "use Roboto" or "use Inter") directly in your agent instructions, and the AI will respect that

Combo Chart Support

If your template includes combo charts (like a bar chart with an overlaid line chart), the AI now detects and preserves the multi-plot structure automatically. Each plot's value format (dollars, percentages, units) is detected from the template and passed to the AI, so your charts maintain the exact formatting your template designer intended.

When the AI cites a source in your presentation, those citations now link directly back to the source document in your project. Click a citation in the app and you'll jump straight to the file or web source it came from, making it easy to verify facts and dig deeper into the underlying data.

5x Faster PDF & PNG Exports

We rebuilt our export pipeline from scratch, cutting PDF generation time from ~20 seconds to ~3 seconds. Every presentation now automatically generates PDF and PNG deliverables — no more toggling a checkbox or waiting for slow conversions. Your files are ready almost as soon as the deck is done.

Upgraded AI Models

We upgraded the AI models powering every tier of the platform. Whether you're on Express or High mode, you'll see noticeably better content quality, more nuanced writing, and smarter layout decisions out of the box.

Enterprise Plan

For larger teams, we've launched an Enterprise plan at $500/month with 55,000 credits. This gives organizations the volume they need for high-throughput deliverable creation, with the same self-serve simplicity as our other plans.

Longer Agent Instructions

Agent instructions now support up to 20,000 characters (up from 5,000). This means you can include detailed disclaimers, contact information, formatting preferences, and methodologies directly in your agent configuration — everything the AI needs to produce on-brand deliverables without repeating yourself every time.

New Help Center

We moved our help documentation from Notion to an integrated help center at deliverables.ai/help. It's faster, searchable, and includes expanded guides on prompting, visual style, writing style, charts and tables, citations, and revisions. You can access it directly from the "Help" link in the app navigation.

Writing & Content Quality

Beyond the headline features, we made dozens of improvements to the content the AI generates:

  • Better slide titles — action-oriented titles that describe the insight, not the slide type ("Revenue grew 23% YoY driven by SaaS expansion" instead of "Financial Overview")
  • Smarter footer handling — footers like disclaimers and confidentiality notices are now managed as locked template elements, so the AI doesn't accidentally overwrite them
  • Stronger editorial illustration style — images default to an Economist-style editorial aesthetic with more specific, scene-based descriptions
  • Clearer file upload errors — error messages for oversized files now persist on screen instead of disappearing instantly

Better Logo & Template Handling

  • Logos in WebP format (common from modern brand assets) now convert automatically for PowerPoint compatibility
  • Template placeholder shapes are now properly detected, including logo slots that use PLACEHOLDER shape types

These updates are live now. We'd love to hear how they're working for your team — reach out to your customer success manager or email us at team@deliverables.ai.
